Sri T Krishnamacharya 02/06/2009

"Krishnamacharya believed Yoga to be India’s greatest gift to the world – although many people approach it as a spiritual practice, he also incorporated a great deal of physical healing because it is difficult for a person to grow if they have a great deal of discomfort from illness. Through the teachings Krishnamacharya received he realized that every person is absolutely unique and he felt that the most important part of teaching yoga was that the student must be taught according to his or her individual capacity at any given time”. Wikipedia

The appreciation of how much all of T Krishnamacharya’s students have contributed to Yoga in the West is reflected in the practice, study and teaching of all those who have had the opportunity to work with his students or any of their students. “If you have learned something really well then the way you express it will not be the same way you learned it.” - T Krishnamacharya

Dharma Downloads - Website created by Paul Harvey 02/06/2009

The aim of Dharma Downloads is to honour the commitment and dedication to the continuing interest in the teachings of Sri T Krishnamacharya as received from his students, especially his longest serving students TKV Desikachar and S Ramswami. TKV Desikachar once described dharma as having three aspects: “Dharma is that which supports you. Dharma is that which stops you from falling. Dharma is that which enables you to pick yourself up after falling.”
